In June of
2002, Robert, George and Maud Huber, purchased three
lots (1½ acres) at Aero Estates Airpark on Lake
Palestine in East Texas. They began preparing a
hangar site on one of the lots and planned to build
a house on the remaining acre, with the aspiration
of retiring there. Robert was looking for a weekend
fly-in, fly-out getaway from Dallas, Texas.
In August 2002, the previous owner of Aero Estates
indicated that he was not interested in further
developing the property. In an effort to revitalize
the original development plans, George, Maud and
Robert considered the purchase and subsequent
development of Aero Estates Airpark.
In late 2002, Robert began to visualize the purchase
and subsequent development of the 120 acres of Aero
Estates Airpark. The previous owner wanted to ensure
that he maintained and secured the original
covenants and restrictions for the property owners,
thereby maintaining the property value and enjoyment
of Aero Estates for future generations. Thus began
the limited partnership between George, Maud and
Robert to realize their dream of a beautiful airpark
where they could later retire and live happily. In
March of 2007, Maud and George decided to change
plans and retire in a golf course retirement
community in northern-central Arkansas. Through a
corporate buy out process, Robert became the sole
owner of Aero Estates Airpark.
Robert is a 1997 graduate of Embry Riddle
Aeronautical University at the Daytona Beach Campus
and holds a Commercial Pilot License with
Multi-Engine and Instrument ratings. Robert flies a
1972 twin engine Cessna 310Q and enjoys flying to
the airpark and traveling to visit family. He has
served in the U.S. Army as an enlisted member and an
officer for 15 years and currently holds the rank of
Captain in the Army Reserves. He has served in
numerous deployments in Iraq during Desert
Shield/Storm & Operation Iraqi Freedom. He worked in
Baghdad, Iraq for two and a half years as a civilian
contractor supporting Department of State operations
with Blackwater Worldwide. Currently, Robert works
full-time as a government contractor in the
Washington DC area and commutes to the Dallas-Fort
Worth area. He continues to focus his efforts on the
development of Aero Estates Airpark with help from
Michael & Cherry Raichle (Sales & Development
Trustee) and David Groome (Operations Director) whom
manage Aero Estates Airpark fulltime. Robert plans
to build a home and hangar at Aero Estates when the
major development goals are completed.
